GS1 HK Food Safety Forum 2023

Ms. May Chung has comprehensive experiences in Consumer Goods Industry. May was the General Manager of Nestlé Hong Kong and also held different local and regional positions in various global corporations such as Kimberly-Clark, Swire Coca-Cola, General Mills and the Walt Disney Company in sales, marketing and market development areas. She also worked as a part-time tutor of Master Degree Course module, Strategic Management Issues in Asia Pacific, at Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU).   

May has been actively contributing to the industry. She is currently a non-official Member of the Hong Kong Government’s Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food, participating to steer the direction and coordinate the work of reducing salt and sugar intake by the local population. In addition, she is the Chairman of GS1 Hong Kong Board as well as Chairman of its Hong Kong Food & Beverage Industry Advisory Board, supporting the organization in advocating various industry-related initiatives. She was also the Vice-President of the Hong Kong Infant and Young Child Nutrition Association and a member of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, Women Executives Club. With her significant contributions to the industry and the society, May has received the Fellowship Award of Asian College of Knowledge Management and the Asian Outstanding Leadership Award for Women.

May received a Master of Science Degree in International Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hon) in Business Studies from University of Strathclyde in United Kingdom and the City University of Hong Kong respectively.

Anna has more than 30 years of CEO experience in steering the strategic direction of the organisation, spearheading major strategic innovative initiatives that have revolutionized the way companies do business locally and globally, helping HK business community thrive.

She has led GS1 Hong Kong to establish platforms, ecosystems and programmes that have driven industry adoption of global supply chain standards, practices and technologies for enhanced business efficiency, digital commerce and IoT development across industries.

Ms Lin attains Chartered Fellow (FCILT), granted by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in 2018, recognising her achievement and contribution to the industries in Hong Kong.

Ms Lin is a native of Hong Kong. She holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Birmingham United Kingdom.

Mr. Hugo Reyes was appointed as the Vice President, FMCG Hong Kong and Macau in 2022, leading the Hong Kong Management Team on developing and implementing business strategies for the FMCG business in Hong Kong and Macau, in line with our FMCG global strategy for sustainable growth. 

Hugo joined DKSH in 2018 and has consistently proven his value to the business through a heightened sense of ownership of business areas and outcomes delegated to him. Hugo also played a critical role while he was the General Manager, FMCG Confectionary, Hong Kong in navigating the complex challenges in the Hong Kong retail environment. Hugo brings along with him experience across various multinational organizations including Brand’s Suntory, Reckitt Benckiser Group, and Procter & Gamble. 

Hugo graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Columbia Union College, specializing in Management, Entrepreneurship and International Business. Hugo has more than 20 years of international experience in all Central American countries, Colombia, Mexico, United States, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and knowledge on other Asian markets; specialized in develop and leading cross functional teams through engagement, accountability, coaching and mentoring.

Henry is the current CEO (Retail) of Uni-China (Business) Management Limited, with over a decade of versatile experience in the fresh food and supermarket industry in mainland China and Hong Kong. He is dedicated to infusing innovative technology and top-notch concepts into the traditional retailing model to provide consumers with a brand new shopping experience.

Uni-China has been rooted in Hong Kong for nearly thirty years and has engaged in diversified business sectors, including fresh food, revitalisation of fresh markets, supermarkets, F&B, project management, innovative technologies & CRM solutions, integrated marketing, intelligent storage service, and automated robotic cold chain, among others. With almost 1,000 stores spread throughout Hong Kong, the Group has established itself as a pioneering force in the fresh food industry.

Henry joined Uni-China Group in 2020 and has since taken the helm in bringing the unique characteristics of traditional fresh markets to the supermarket landscape. Through a combination of systematic management and technological elements, he successfully initiated a novel change for the supermarket business landscape. In three years, his team has established 11 stores for its own supermarket brands "FRESH" and "Hong Kong Flavours", six of which are co-established with PARKnSHOP as cross-over concept store: TASTE x FRESH 新鮮生活. This groundbreaking move has made a positive impact on the entire industry.

Mr. Hui Man Kiu has a profound interest in the culture of old Hong Kong and possesses an unwavering passion for the culinary arts. He turned this interest into his career and to make a foray into the food and beverage industry in early 2020, with the establishment of Victorian Era, Wagyu Yakiniku Ichiro, Saburo Japanese Yakiniku and Voynich.

Mr. Hui committed to deliver the highest quality and standard of ingredients and products of food to his customers. In order to do so, he has founded Hong Kong All About Eat Catering Limited, which has been certified with ISO22000.

Moreover, in early 2023, Hong Kong All About Eat Catering Limited has become a lunch supplier for the "eatsmart @school.hk" Campaign which organized by the Department of Health, providing nutritious lunch for schools. He hopes everyone can always enjoy an extraordinary dining experience.

Jack Leung joined the leading edible oil manufacturer, Hop Hing, in 2022 as the Chief Operating Officer- Hong Kong and Macau. He oversees the overall sales, marketing, manufacturing and distribution of the renounced brands like Lion and Globe, Camel Brand, Unicorn (Retail) and SS, GE and Topper (Catering) in the region. Together with his team, Jack aims to further drive up Hop Hing’s number one market share position of the edible oil category while venturing the organization into other new horizons.

Jack had 20 years of diverse experience in the FMCG industry. He started his career as a trainee in Parknshop. He then joined San Miguel Brewery and Carlsberg where he equipped himself with the first-hand experience of key account management and HORECA sales, channel marketing, business development and principal management, people training and B.I. He is also the cofounder of Ztore.com and Neigbuy.com, the innovative and reputable ecommerce startups of Hong Kong.

Jack graduated from the University of Birmingham with Accounting and Finance bachelor degree. He got his Master of Business Administration from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is a TEDx speaker and certified as the trainer of change management and situational leadership.

Ms. April Ying joined Hung's Food Group in 2017, where she was responsible for the operations management of Yoshinoya Hong Kong business. Starting from 2022, she led the Operations Excellence and New Projects team, as well as the Customer Service Department, dedicated to driving various operations optimization projects. She also introduced appropriate digital technology solutions for the frontline to continuously improve operational efficiency, customer experience and satisfaction. 

Ms. Ying graduated from the Faculty of Science, University of Hong Kong and has been engaged in the catering industry for more than 15 years. She has held leadership positions in various chain food and retail groups, including Yoshinoya Hong Kong and Circle K, in areas such as operational management, food service, and market expansion. With her extensive experience in food and beverage industry management and business acumen, Ms. Ying has successfully implemented many innovative business projects, including establishing new store models and developing new businesses. 

Hung's Food Group is committed to promoting the digital transformation of the quick serve food industry. The Operations Excellence and New Projects team led by Ms. Ying will continue to innovate traditional operations and service processes through the use of smart technology. They aim to address the pain points in both the front and back of house operations. Among their optimization solutions, they have already launched the Yoshi-Rail food delivery train and back of house operations e-management system in 2023. 

Ms. Diana Cheung has been engaged in Food Quality Management and Assurance for more than 20 years. In Hung’s Food Group, operating Yoshinoya fast food and Maria’s bakery chain, she is responsible for standardization of product production and establishment of food quality assurance system in restaurants and food processing centers. She also led various teams to established and implement Store HACCP,  Supply Chain ISO9001 Quality Management System & ISO22000 Food Safety Management System and successfully got relevant certification.

Mr. Ringo Li Joined KIN in 2022 as the Head of Procurement & Resourcing. He leads a team on sustainability procurement, logistic solution as well as product sourcing. He is also involved in the development of oversea supplier and supply chain management.

Mr. Li has spent more than 15 years in Procurement industry, servicing as senior position for several Luxury Hotel Group and F&B Group including Hyatt, Shangri-la and Miramar Group in Hong Kong, Macau, and Malaysia. He has leading cluster purchase programs in hospitality and successfully carrying out various product standardization and considerable influence of saving.

Mr. Keith Chan joined Uni-China Group in 2021 as the Chief Executive Officer of Tahuhu Limited. He leads a team to setup the first seamless automated cold storage in Hong Kong. Tahuhu offers a breakthrough CSA logistics solution that resolves the long-term pain points of cold chain logistics service users and operators. At the same time, the solution uplifts the food safety, cold chain control standard, and operations efficiency. The solution combines seamless “Cold Chain” control, smart “System”, and advanced “Automation” to provide the state-of-the-art cold chain logistics total services.

Keith has spent more than 25 years in supply chain industry, with wide spectrum of product categories and business sectors. In 1998, Keith had started applying innovative technologies to setup “Zero inventory and same day delivery FMCG operations” and “Efficient Retailer Replenishment Module by using handheld computer” to streamline the logistics operations and gain business advantages. Implementation of voice picking operations for supermarket chain distribution centre in 2020 is another example. “Continuous improvement” is his motivation to seek for new winning changes and the key to achieve breakthroughs.
 

Before joining The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, Dr. Wu excels in his role with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) as a researcher with more than a decade of professional experience. Having held numerous roles with the university previously, his expertise precedes him. Over the years, Dr. Wu worked closely with many industrial partners to support and contribute to formulating their business strategies, operations improvement and new product development. Dr. Wu received the Big Data Analysis Award from the China & Hong Kong Enterprise Market Development Association in 2014, the Best Reviewer Award for a journal entitled Internet Research in 2016, and the Outstanding Paper Award of Emerald Literati Network Awards in 2019. To stay at the top of his field, Dr. Wu is a member (IEEE), a senior member (HKSQ) and PMP-certified. As he looks to the future, Dr. Wu intends to continue researching the fields of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and smart logistics & manufacturing.
